No sound [SOLVED]

Hi, I've read the ArchWiki but the A/V section deals with specific media programs (am I missing something?), I have no sound on my machine, i.e. YouTube videos have no sound. How can I fix this? Are drivers or firmware needed?

Thanks

Have you turned the speakers on ? big_smile

This should probably go in the "dumbest computing errors" thread, but a few weeks ago my parents asked me to fix a problem they were having with their Windows machine not producing any sound. I spent about half an hour checking codecs, plugins, etc. before I realised the speakers had been yanked out of the back of the machine. roll
