Creating dummy packages and nvidia

Hi to everyone,

ok i just started using arch last night, so pardon my ignorance.  the nvidia drivers from the pacman repos do not work with my hardware, they give me garbage when switching to text consoles and seem to have bad symlinks or something because i cant even use the server settings program either.

so im going to use the nvidia installer, the installer always works better for me anyways. i saw on the wiki page a warning about conflicting gl libs when using the nvidia installer http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/How … tional_way and it says to create a dummy package for libgl.  i have no idea how to create a dummy package though or the side of effects of the warning from the wikipage.

any advice on how to do this really welcome. thank you.

EDIT: nvidia installer does the same thing as the repoed one. ill check over at nvidia. thnx.
