Printing problems [SOLVED]

Just reinstalled Arch, now I can't print anything.

In the webinterface cups says

"Unable to start filter "cupsomatic" - No such file or directory."

next to my printer, which is set up as I always does. I even looked in the wiki for answer, didn't make a difference.

Here's the log

tail /var/log/cups/error_log

I search for this "cupsomatic" thing in pacman - not there.
I installed foomatic, a2ps, gutenprint in the hope it would solve it, but it still doesn't work.

I hope someone has a glue what going on

Re: Printing problems [SOLVED]

I solved it.

After a quick install of Debian to get the pages printed, I returned to Arch.

I downloaded a newer ppd for my printer from linuxprinting.org and now cups' webui said:

"Unable to start filter "foomatic-rip" - No such file or directory."

next to the printer in the "manage printer"-page.
Ok, now this I knew how to fix.

pacman -S foomatic-db foomatic-db-engine foomatic-filters

Printing know works perfect.

The problem was, I think, that the old ppd had gotten to old... depending on old, no-longer-used filters.

What I/we can learn from this is to keep an eye on linuxprinting.org to get newer ppd's... Especially if something breaks...

Peace,
C
