problems with last nvidia driver and kernel26

Thats if u upgraded to nptl.. Unless you did that you dont need to do that.. Do you have devfs or udev? If udev you definitely need to modprobe nvidia if devfs just try modprobe nvidia

Yes, you have reason, I have understood the post badly, unfortunately I do not understand very well English  :oops:
I had not loaded nvidia module.

Now in /etc/modprobe.conf there's this:

[root@Arch root]# cat /etc/modprobe.conf
#
# /etc/modprobe.conf (for v2.6 kernels)
#

alias /dev/nvidia*   nvidia

It's correct?

or I must replace it only with nvidia?

in /etc/rc.conf where it sayws modules add the module nvidia in the parentheses..
