wireless need X

Hi I'm using a macbook, I know I have to be on the internet to install X, I also know madwifi supports these wireless cards. So my question is would there be any problem putting the madwifi tarball on my USB flash drive and installing the drivers without any GUI? I think I know the answer to this question, but just wanted to ask.

thank you.

Re: wireless need X

I am doing a pacman -S xorg and I am getting a warning: current locale is invalid; using default "C" locale error: 'xorg': not found in sync db

Re: wireless need X

you need to set your locale as stated in the beginners guide...
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beg … locale.gen
and you probably need to update through pacman -Sy first before you install anything

Re: wireless need X

I did a pacman -Sy but it just comes up with a bunch of transient resolver failures, which leads me to believe I am not online and I looked through the docs and I see there is no WLAN section.

Re: wireless need X

unknown host www.google.com, I think I am going to try to connect it wired later, I'll report back then.
