help! kernel panic

Help!, after I tried to install grub-gfx now at boot i get a kenel panic! what I should to do?

I guess you've just replaced your menu.lst with a default one.
If you do know how what /dev/sd* is your root is and which partition your /boot - you can try to change grub config at runtime (hit 'e' to start editing, then 'b' to boot)
