I hope that I am doing this properly, as I see that dtw is the package maintainer. The current version in AUR is 0.12-1 and the new version 0.13 (announced on the geany website on Feb. 05, 2008) has numerous nice new features for projects and other goodies as well.
So here is some information that I was able to gather:
pkgname=geany
pkgver=0.13
pkgdesc="A fast and lightweight IDE"
The source can apparently be found at any of these :
http://files.uvena.de/geany/geany-0.13.tar.gz
http://files.uvena.de/geany/geany-0.13.tar.bz2
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/geany/geany-0.13.tar.gz?download
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/geany/geany-0.13.tar.bz2?download
Thank you for making the packages that have already been made for all of the Arch users,

It was just a few days before as tardo, the former maintainer of geany, resigned TU-ship. So dtw is not very long maintainer yet. Pleas give him some time, or us th PKGBUILD someone put in the comments in AUR.

Try out geany-svn, I just took ownership and made it work again. I've also added x86_64 to the PKGBUILD as I'm running the 64 bit myself.

Thanks for the information, Stefan! I didn't know about the change-over (sorry, dtw, I didn't intend to be pushy or anything and thanks for taking over the task!)
I finally found some time to try building a package and followed the comments in AUR (as you suggested). It took me a while to figure it all out, but I finally managed to build geany-0.13 and it seems to work, so I guess I did it correctly
Until an "official" AUR package build is released, I hope to get by with my first package build attempt

Thanks for the reply, Liquibyte. I have no idea what geany-svn is, but as you have probably already seen in my reply to Stefan, I managed to somehow stumble my way through a package build and am now using a 0.13 version of geany.

geany-svn is just the subversion package which is 0.13.

The build I just did (built on or after Mar 4 2008) says: "Geany 0.14svn >= r2304 though I don't see much difference between it and the 0.13 release. I've been using the svn builds for quite awhile now and they seem to be very stable, although obviously one can't count on that always being the case.
