Terminal apps don't resize

I'm trying to get some apps (htop, mocp) to autostart in a gnome-terminal window.
The problem is that I want different sizes on the terminal-windows, but the programs doesn't resize accordingly.
I have put this in a script that I run with X.

gnome-terminal --geometry=132x46+1+0 +x htop

The above command gives me the gnome-terminal in the right size, and htop running in it. But htop thinks gnome-terminal size is much smaller (the default size?).
Anyway, if I manually open gnome-terminal, rezise it, and then open htop then it recognizes the correct size.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Terminal apps don't resize

hi there - most apps now correctly resize, except one: ncmpc (any version). I can remember it worked once. Sadly, i can't recall when it stopped, because i weren't using ncmpc for some time.

EDIT: played a little around and auto-magical resizing works now... strange...
