Prepare for a strange problem!
I recently installed Xgl - successfully. Glx works fine and I'm running compiz-fusion. However, a few seconds after GDM starts, the X server suddenly crashes with this error message:
dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/xgl/libglxext.so: undefined symbol: CALL_ProgramParameter4fvNV
Fatal server error:
No GLX modules loaded
dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/xgl/libglxext.so: undefined symbol: CALL_ProgramParameter4fvNVFatalError re-entered, aborting
No GLX modules loaded
Now, I promised a strange problem, so here it is: after exiting this error message, GDM continues like nothing happened, even if I already logged in to my desktop in those few seconds! And glx works, no problem. Compiz-fusion works like a charm. I have the Composite-extension enabled. If I disable it, the error message still pops up, glx still works, but compiz-fusion doesn't work (understandably). I have "glx" and "GLcore" in my Module-section in xorg.conf.
I suspect this all has something to do with my Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M and the nvidia-drivers. Does anyone have any ideas?
