Matrox G550 Mouse on only one monitor

I'm running a dual monitor setup on a Matrox G550 dualhead.  In X11, I have displays on both monitors, but a mouse pointer on only one.  The second monitor has a "ghost" of the pointer, that is, if I mouseover something on the kde desktop, it will highlight or otherwise indicate that the mouse is on it, but there is no mouse pointer to see.  Needless to say, it makes using the mouse on this monitor something of a challenge.

Identical desktops on both monitors; using a wireless logitech mouse that is setup as a PS/2 mouse in xorg.

Tried that but I don't know if it worked; I did a quick system upgrade before I rebooted, and now Arch won't boot. sad Hope to figure out why this weekend.....
