Hi,
I've got a strange problem with Sony Micro Vault 2GB usb stick. The flash is working on other computers, both under windows and arch, however, it does not get detected on my laptop (dell XPS1210) and on a freshly installed Arch workstation.
Hal is working and it detects other memory sticks and usb devices, usb kernel modules are loaded, etc. Below is the output from lsusb and fdisk.
# lsusb
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
# fdisk -l

Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xeede9d79

/dev/sda5 741 1956 9767488+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda6 1957 9546 60966643+ 83 Linux
The only thing that comes to my mind is that the problem is sony specific, however, as I mentioned it does work on another laptop with same version of Arch.
Can anyone give any suggestions how this can be fixed?
Thanks!

Is it formatted using a filesystem that is not (yet) installed on your new Dell-system?
Or wait, that wouldn't explain why it isn't showing up in lsusb or fdisk -l - nevermind...
Zl.
