looking for calculator software

Hey, anyone has good advice on good calculator software for linux? it doesn't really matter if it's an emulator or a standalone calculator, but I want it to have more or less the same (math) features as a hp or ti graphing calculator. I tried x48 but it kept segfaulting on me, one of tilemu's dependences won't compile , and I don't know what I should try next.

Thanks smile

M-x calc  in emacs does some nifty stuff, and is programmable in Lisp. But it doesn't support any kind of graphing that I'm aware of.

Re: looking for calculator software

tiemu works fine here. Use the libti* from extra.

The suggestion box only accepts patches.

Re: looking for calculator software

qalculate is a nice software... you also get to choose frontends for gnome or kde (community)...

if you're looking into really deep mathmatics try octave, which is outdated, btw...

If you need something more sophisticated you could try maxima

Re: looking for calculator software

thanks, in the end I chose speedcrunch for normal calculator and maxima to do other stuff. I used to use maple, but my laptop has pretty limited resources. I don't think I'll keep using it  besides of for using tutor ^_^.
