k3b can not find growisofs executable.

Hello.

I have strange problem. I have k3b, and when I try to burn a dvd, get a strange error 'cannot find growisofs executable'. I have dvd+rw-tools installed, and I have growisofs in /usr/bin/ directory. I try moving growisofs in /bin, but no luck. I have the same error, using graveman too.

Can someone help me.

I want to ask another question too. The DVD that I have to burn is a video DVD. If I copy the content of the DVD into my HDD, and then burn it as Data DVD, is it going to play, when I run it on a DVD player connected to TV. Is the DVD software and the DVD ROM going to read the disk as video DVD. I am asking that, because when I click on k3b`s New Video DVD Project, I got two directories in the k3b project, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS, but in the DVD that I have to copy from, there are VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_RM directories. Is this going to matter, or I can safely use the k3b`s Copy DVD dialog and to make a copy of the disk.

I will be happy, if you tell me how to copy/burn Video DVD`s so I can play them on TV DVD Player, even with another software, different them k3b or graveman.

you can check the path to growisofs in k3b configuration panel (programs subsection)

In k3b`s configuration panel (programs subsection) there is no path set for growisofs. In Search Patch tab, there is /usr/local/bin set as path, and k3b has found mkisofs in /usr/local/bin. I try to remove and install k3b package, but no luck. There is still 'not find' label from growisofs

How can I use my dvd burner as user. When I start k3b with normal user account, there is growisofs path in the k3b`s configuration, but I cannot use my DVD. I added my user to 'optical' group as it is in the wiki, but still the user cannot use the DVD.

just add /usr/bin to the search path. I wouldn't use k3b as root though.

Which groups are you in?
Maybe you should add your user to the storage group?
