What good-looking font would you guys recommend for use with Conky?

AvanteGarde LT Medium if using Xft mode.  Otherwise just about any pixel font will do the trick.... check out the artwiz-font package for good bitmaps.  Ultimately, it's a matter of preference.

I can't provide a direct link, and I think it may be commercial-ware, but I know for certain it's available through googling.
