Kaffeine slow

I find Kaffeine to be easier to use then VLC for most things, for instance when in full screen mode you just move the mouse and bam you have your progress bar instead of having to use keyboard shortcuts for FF/RW.  But, the video isn't as good.  Recently when watching some anime in h264/AAC at 720p (This may have caused the problem, IDK, I don't have much experience with HD quality video) I would get green pixellation on certain parts of the video at times, and when skipping through with the progress bar it would freeze up for a time and then start playing again.  Is there any way to fix this?  VLC didn't seem to have any issues, although I couldn't get the subtitle track to show in VLC for some reason?
