wxPython PKG (2 months have passed by, but 4 ArchLinux yet!)

I remember emailing the PKG Maintainer of wxPython ArchLinux Package, and he told me he was travelling North America, and had no access to his desktop PC (ArchLinux there), and that he won't update his packages, and that he 'll notify AL devs about this.

I'm not sure if other devs know it (that's why I ask)
but anyways, wxPython Package NEEDS UPDATING.

those were my 2 EuroCents

I looked & package is flagged out of date....

What about PKGBUILD?

I understand your anger, I just looked at the bugtracker, where maintainer
wrote that he has trouble with the package and the gtk versions. Maybe if
you can provide a working combo of wxgtk/wxpython it might help him.
Please e-mail him again. It seems he is aware of the problem and working
on it.

thanks neri

neri, can you please gimme the bug number?

thanks in advance.

[yes that could be it, because wxGTK is also aged]

I also want to discuss with him [and with other ArchLinucers] having wxGTK working ONLY with GTK2

GTK1 is aged too tongue

Re: wxPython PKG (2 months have passed by, but 4 ArchLinux yet!)

wxGTK 2.5.2 compiles without issue but wxpython fail with errors likely due to gcc 3.4 , but may just be bad code in general.
