Hi folks,
Archlinux 86_64 2007-08-2
I need to install Subversion (svn)
http://subversion.tigris.org/
I can't find it on repo
$ pacman -Qs svn
No printout
However I found cvs
$ pacman -Qs cvs
local/csup 20060318-5 (base-devel)
csup - cvsup rewritten in C
On;
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O … _Search=Go
I found
qsvn 0.6.1-1 Qt4 GUI for Subversion
qsvn-svn 799-1 SVN version of Qt4 GUI for Subversion
subversion-patchedfor-bzr 1.4.5-2 Replacement for CVS, another versioning system (svn)
They are already out-dated.
Is there a repo providing this package? OR I have to download it on the website?
Is there Wiki doc available?
TIA

pacman -S subversion
- it's in extra
$ pacman -Qs svn
No printout
On another note, you should familiarize yourself with the contents of man pacman - particularly the SYNC and QUERY sections.

$ pacman -Ss subversion | grep subversion
extra/fortune-mod-subversion 1.0-1 (fortune-mods)
extra/subversion 1.4.5-4
I found it. Thanks. It needs its full name.
My finding on "fortune-mod-subversion 1.0-1" is
Extra games fortune-mod-subversion 1.0-1 Subversion fortune cookie files
http://archlinux.org/packages/search/?q … ast_update
I don't game. Therefore I don't need it.

Actually, fortune is not a game. It is a quite popular (and old) program
which dishes up a quote from a text file when you invoke it.
fortune-mod-subversion contains some quotes, etc. related to subversion I guess.
I really don't know why fortune is under games. It's not really
a game, though it can be entertaining to see its output sometimes
for example this is what it gave after running a few times:
~ fortune
You look like a million dollars. All green and wrinkled.
