Re: Arch Linux Schwag

I played around a bit and created something that should be a bit more realistic in size:

Foxbunny was also good enough to contribute an awesome shirt design:

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

Hurray! I've got my stickers smile

image00016om9.th.jpg

As you can see the half size is too big. The size of the icons in the top right corner seems to be the best.
I have this design saved on my account on zazzle, I wonder if it's possible to share this with you Dusty. Maybe it would be of some use for you :\

I think you can share it via an e-mail link in the account -- that's what cactus did with his mug. dusty@linux.ca. Would you say the new sticker I have created is close in size?

The new stickers you've created are the same size as the biggest one on my picture. For me that one seems to be too big.

As I mentioned earlier the best size is the sticker in top right corner of my picture. The sticker ended up being a bit taller and a bit thiner then intel and windows stickers, but approximately same size. Although someone might want to remove all the other stickers and just glue a big Arch Linux one smile. For this case I think the one in top left corner would be a good fit smile

Thanks!

Not sure how it works but I trust that as long as I modify one of the Arch items then Arch will still receive some of the proceeds?

Yes. The proceeds are the same whether or not you customize the product, so nobody feel compelled to buy the 'official' product -- they're kind of just examples anyway. :-D

(Oh, also the link to the Arch Art on the Arch page doesn't appear to work)

Thanks for letting me know, its fixed now. I also had a spelling error in there, so its good you made me look at it. :-)

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

Hi all,

I had a mug and a hoodie top bought as gifts for my birthday and they arrived as ordered.  Unfortunately the top was very large, the shoulders were on my elbows!  My wife contacted Zazzle and they were very accomadating with regards to exchanging it.  I have received my new hoodie and it is a perfect fit.

Coffee tastes fantastic from the mug!

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

I wondered if there are any vinyl stickers, with the lick'n'stick side so you can put them on glass, car windows, cyber cafe windows, and so on?

Zazzle doesn't have anything like that but you can get some from here if you like:

http://www.vistaprint.com/window-decal.aspx

They actually have some free ones too but you can't get custom logos on them.

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

Regarding wall clocks, backpacks and messenger bags:

I don't have any control over the products zazzle offers; you could try making these suggestions to them. I have contacted them a few times and they've always been great to deal with.

As you know, I"m working on a few other (non-zazzle) custom offerings (case badges, jewellery, USB keys), but these are a lot more work and require a lot more thought than zazzle products. In general I have to get a minimum order of custom printed merchandise, which is a high up front investment with a certain amount of risk for me if the products don't all sell.

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

yeah.. no problem...

It's a shame zazzle offer only those girly bags... it's really hard to find a decent geek/linux messenger bags, the only ones I could find were in cafepress.com but they are all yellow and I don't like it... I also found a cool fluxbox one on the fluxbox site, but I'd like to have more choices...

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

I want to order one of those "Powered by" stickers (you know, like these or these), but I am confused by the number of variations available.

For example, is there any difference between round stickers and bumper stickers?

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

You might stick the round stickers on things directly; I designed the bumper stickers so you'd cut them out. You can cut them out on the round ones if you want. Also, I think the material printed on is a bit different -- bumper stickers are a bit thicker, shinier.

The images may also vary in terms of size, but you can customize the size of images when you check out.

Re: Arch Linux Schwag

I'm very excited to announce:

http://www.zazzle.ca/archlinux*

Canadian Arch Linux Schwag!

All the same products as the US store, but in (depressingly high) Canadian Dollars.

Maybe this means they'll be setting up a European storefront someday too, who knows!
