Nice to see more ion users, Dusty would be so proud over you.
If you know how to make a floating workspace I be your bitch.
this code makes a tiled
kpress(DEFAULT_MOD.."F9",
           function(scr)
               scr:attach_new({ type=default_ws_type, switchto=true })
           end),
I just can't find the right funtion in the ion manual.

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

From the FAQ (http://modeemi.cs.tut.fi/~tuomov/ion/faq.html)

1.6 How do I create a "floating workspace"/WFloatWS.

RTFM.

    F9: Go to existing workspace or create new (query). If a non-existent workspace was entered, the type of the workspace to be created will be queried as well.

But why use ion when there's wmi big_smile Try the latest snapshot and you won't go back.

kpress(DEFAULT_MOD.."<whatever>",     "WFloatFrame.attach_new(_, {type='WFloatWS'})"),

This will make a floating workspace attached to your current frame. I'm sure you can use that to make whatever keybindings you need for floating workspaces.

summer edition desktop:
http://datadump.homelinux.com/screens/arch_aqua.png

except for the font problem (which i've given up solving -- this is just the way it is, i guess) arch is the best distro i've ever used. when i get my new processor next week i'm going to give lunar a go on my other partition, but i doubt i'll stray far from arch even with the wonky fonts. it's the best linux out there, imho (after trying: mandrake, redhat, slackware, vector, college, libranet, debian, gentoo and suse (a long time ago)).

I've had problems also so I read the whole fontconfig manual and in the end I found this..
<match target="font">
                <edit name="rgba" mode="assign">
                        <const>rgb</const>
                </edit>
        </match>
now I'm happy but it might not be what you are looking for. You find it at freedesktop.org.

So far so good. I had one panel crash, but i think it was related to me doing something funny in the install. Ever since then its been great. Some really nice new features and xffm is lookin really nice.
