galeon problem

Hi. I'm a new arch linux user. First of all thank's for any kind of support.
My question is this one: I've installed galeon on my box but I can't launch it as a normal user. It claims that:

"The gconf schema couldn't be found.

This shouldn't generally happen, but can usually be fixed by running "galeon-config-tool --install-schemas"."

I've given the suggested galeon-config-tool command both from user and root. But only root can launch the browser (and well this is not really very usefull at all). Launching from normal user it still claims that error.
Can you help me please?
Thank's. wink

Re: galeon problem

odd. well if you just installed it and have not logout or rebooted since installing it it may be as simple as logging out then back in in order to fix this. but that is just a guess.

Re: galeon problem

well the only other thing i can suggest is filing a bug or going on irc to see if you can track down the maintainer for advice.

Re: galeon problem

how did you install galeon?  via pacman -S or during the initial Arch install?

Re: galeon problem

Try running these commands as root.

/opt/gnome/bin/galeon-config-tool --fix-gconf-permissions
/opt/gnome/bin/galeon-config-tool --pkg-install-schemas

Re: galeon problem

I can't reproduce your problem... but I would like to.

Are you sure when you installed you didn't have a different root specified with -r or --root <path> ?  That's the only way I can see that it might not work (a fixable case).

Well no. This is the first time I've installed ArchLinux. I've installed galeon just after gnome and xorg after the first reboot.  And I use the simple -S option for pacman (I know only few ones).
