Remember Window Position in Gnome

hi,
is it possible (in an "easy" way - dont want to edit config files for every application sad  ) to remember the positions of windows on the gnome desktop?

Use gnome with a window manager that can do this. I don't think metacity can be configured (hardly at all) to do this. Consider integrating XFWM or one of the *box'es. When you've grown used to it, you'll thank me wink
