no sound on my laptop

Hi folks... I am having a small problem using arch linux on my laptop... i can't get no sound... i've installed alsa and it detected the sound card all right.. i've put alsa in rc.conf just as I did on my desktop... but i still get no sound... the laptop chipset is the ATI RC410ME + SB450, and I don't know exactly the model os the sound card...

any clue??

Have you tried running 'alsamixer' as root. Unmute the channels and crank the volume up.

well, i did it, as well as runned 'alsactl store'... hmmmm... maybe i didn't unmute the channels... gotta try this later... thanks...
