Creating a patched kernel package

Hello, I'm trying to build a patched 2.6 kernel, however I currently use a working 2.6 kernel and would like it to remain untouched.

Any tips as to modifying the PKGBUILD? I'm not too sure about how the directory scheme should be.

Thanks in advance.
