I'm trying to use the Youtube plugin with Totem, but if I click on a video in the sidebar I get the following message:
The playback of this movie requires a Flash demuxer plugin which is not installed.
Is there any package that provides that?
Thanks

Ok, I've installed the gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg, and when I try to play a video I get this message now:
ffdemux_flv: Element doesn't implement handling of this stream. Please file a bug

Ok, I have also installed gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins, and now it simply crashes when I try to play a video. Some output:
** Message: don't know how to handle audio/mpeg, mpegversion=(int)1, layer=(int)3, rate=(int)22050, channels=(int)1
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 52 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Apparently they have marked that bug as RESOLVED (sic ) without providing a solution :\
Could it indeed be an Arch bug?
@ peets
I have installed gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins but I keep getting the same crash & error.
@ Mr Green
I'm very happy it works for you (no actually I'm just envious) however it still doesn't for me, despite having upgraded everything.

I've always dreamt of not having to open Firefox (or another window/tab) to watch videos, and now that dream has crumbled to dust...

gstreamer0.10 0.10.18-3
gstreamer0.10-bad 0.10.6-2
gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins 0.10.6-1
gstreamer0.10-base 0.10.18-2
gstreamer0.10-base-plugins 0.10.18-1
gstreamer0.10-farsight 0.12.2-1
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.3-1
gstreamer0.10-good 0.10.7-2

gstreamer0.10-python 0.10.9-1
gstreamer0.10-ugly 0.10.7-2
gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins 0.10.7-1

gstreamer0.10-bad 0.10.6-2
gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins 0.10.6-1
gstreamer0.10-base 0.10.19-1
gstreamer0.10-base-plugins 0.10.19-1
gstreamer0.10-farsight 0.12.2-1
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.3-1
gstreamer0.10-good 0.10.7-2

gstreamer0.10-python 0.10.9-1

Ah, I didn't notice you had changed the status, I thought it was marked by the devs...
Perhaps it doesn't work on our systems because we're Italians, you never know...
Anyway, if nothing comes up from that bug report, I'll open a bug report on the Arch's Flyspray.

hmmmm...it works for me. I used to get that bug when I tried compiling gnome early on, but it's fixed with the release into extra for me. All those gstreamer plugins were reduced into universal bad, ugly and so on plugins, maybe that has something to do with it? dunno

After a brief exchange in Gnome Bugzilla, I have found out that my problem now is Compiz. One of the devs suggested that it might be related to my xv settings:
Emmanuele, your problem has _nothing_ to do with the original. You don't have
any codecs to play back Flash video, and you have problems with your Xv setup
(using Compiz?). File another bug, or better, contact your distribution about
those problems.
But I don't really know what he's talking about. All I know is that if I use Metacity the plugin just works. Any suggestions?
Thank you

I have just filed a bug on Flyspray: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10141
Edit
Wow that was ultra-quick. JGC suggested me to set the default gstreamer video output to "x11", disabling Xv, through the gstreamer-properties program. And it worked
I hope this may help somebody else as well.
