Problems after installing and updating arch

Hi all... this is my first post around here smile

I have an acer Laptop that has been running Ubuntu until some weeks ago, when i decided to give arch a try.
After following the Wiki, i upgraded all the system to the latest programs and kernel... after rebooting, i cannot even reach the prompt... and this happens sometimes... some other times, i reach the prompt, but looks like stupid, showing the commands really slowly, and not responding to them when i attempt to, i.e. read from a file that is in the disk, or even do a simple 'ls' command.
I think this must be some issue with some recent kernel update, can it be?
I am completely stucked and i dont know how to go on, and fix this issue... can anyone give me some clue?

Thanks!

Re: Problems after installing and updating arch

Hi.  Welcome to the forums!

Look at /var/log/pacman.log, and look at what programs got updated recently and whether config files were added or changed.  Merge any changes you've made into any new config files, and follow any other instructions given.
