Openbox FreeNX

Hi there, ive gotten FreeNX to work with KDE and Gnome, but not openbox sad
When i connect with the client it starts a session and just terminates when the window pops up.

Have anyone successfully installed FreeNX alongside OpenBox? If so, feel free to share your solutions smile

Re: Openbox FreeNX

hi serrghi,
i've got it up and running. in the client's settings > general > desktop > settings in "run the following command" is use "exec openbox-session" (without ") and enabled "new virtual desktop".

Re: Openbox FreeNX

This gave just a black screen hmm

Ive also tried "unix->custom->command: /usr/bin/openbox-session" with floating window. No luck there either.

I can see the nxnode and openbox session running when ido ps x in terminal, but i have no picutre in NX or NX is inresponsive.

Any tips?

EDIT:

Ok, this is what ive done so far:
installed freenx through pacman, configured /etc/ssh/sshd_config to enable X11Forwarding=yes.
Have done no real configuration on /opt/NX/etc/node.conf other than enabling logging.

also did "/opt/NX/bin/nxsetup --install --setup-nomachine-key --clean --purge"

Doing this ive been able to connect to the nxserver, but ive failed to get any picture. The window i get is simply black/empty.
The log didnt say anything usefull either.

Re: Openbox FreeNX

i just followd the wiki and everything worked fine.

at the end of the wiki there are some trouble shooting manuals. maybe " NX Crashes on session startup" helps?

Re: Openbox FreeNX

serrghi: Try installing a login manager, like SLiM. You might also like to try setting X11 to startup with linux.
