I just installed thunar from pacman in gnome and the first thing that strikes me is that the toolbar icons are huge. Is there a way to make them small?

Are you sure that your talking about the toolbar icons because mine are actually quite small, around 32x32 or so at the most. Go to edit>preferences>side pane. Here you can choose the icon sizes.

Just saw a post with the same thing a couple days ago.
in your ~/gtkrc.mine add
gtk-icon-sizes = "panel-menu=16,16:panel=16,16:gtk-menu=16,16\
:gtk-large-toolbar=16,16:gtk-small-toolbar=16,16:gtk-button=16,16"

Yea, I also posted about this a month or so ago and never got an answer
I've gotten used to it now....

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

a few posts up is the fix you can set it in your ~/gtkrc-2.0 or gtkrc.mine file and make the icons 16 pixel instead of 24 or whatever they are now.

I tried that back then but it didn't help. It puzzled me greatly.
I'm troubled. Let's all take a moment now....
