[SOLVED] Applications need some time to start

Hi, i installed arch with gnome. Everything looks in perfect state. But when i start any application(gnome-commander, gedit,skype,firefox,VIM..- not only window applications..) it takes about 2~5 seconds to appear program starts. I don't know what is cause of it, but if you had that problem, i' d appreciate some advice.
i've got
Linux genesis 2.6.24-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Mar 30 11:40:06 CEST 2008 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
with 2 GB Ram

Re: [SOLVED] Applications need some time to start

i dont know about the rest but vim can be configured to be much faster than the Archlinux default which has almost all enterpeters enabled. edit your .vimrc. eg. with vim -X also if you dont need X features, mouse or acl try vi instead. it much faster

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Is your hostname in /etc/hosts?
