I'm sure that's in large due to the fact that Ubuntu has its very own Arch subforum.

It's the other way round: we got a subforum because the "Archlinux talk" thread got huge, with almost 1000 posts, so the mods, with the help of K.Mandla opened up a dedicated section for us

I use Windows for a week or two already, but still read the forums...
If everything else fails, read the manual.

And I thought Arch was the distro-hopper stopper...

Not necessarily
I recently moved a friend vista --> vista + arch. He had about 1 - 2 hours of total linux experience before this in suse and mandriva
In my turn (2005) I switched win 98 --> gentoo as 1st distro and was a complete noob for a while. Now I use both arch and gentoo. Would I find arch first I probably would use it

yeah, agree, of cource not all, i consider myself a noob, because more u experiece more u realize u know nothing.
i started linuxing with Mandriva, then tried Debian and > ARCH . i think arch requires some distro experience. i'm saying so cuz even after 2 distros i had some problems with installation. must say that in arch i've known about linux and stuff much more then in these two distros, i think that's because of all clear and logic things u do along the installation and maintaining."
