The keyboard does not work anylonger in Gnome 2.6 but works fine in KDE. Gnome keyboard setting looks ok in keyboard preferences.
While in gnome, I may have inadvertently pressed a keyboard key but not sure which one. Is there some command the locks the keyboard in gnome? If so, how do I release the lock?

I had to delete the ".gconf" in my home directory to resolve the problem, then redo my desktop Preference settings. Not sure what caused the problem , but I had recently switched from xfree86 to Xorg.

I had a similar problem with GDM, switching to udev.
