In the past when using dwm i've used Pidgin's plugin 'guifications' - which I don't think is available in 64bit. It gave me a little popup at the bottom of the screen that something happened. (or whatever I configured it for) Is there anything out there for me while I'm working in another desktop that I get notified that something is happening in my IM desktop?
Reason being is that I sometimes work from home and all my co-workers converse over jabber. I usually have to login to half dozen servers and even more databases, so having lots of desktops and screen space is optimal. So when I'm busy working on some code or db, I would like to know when one of my customer service representitives has a question for me. Or when one of the owners needs me to do something ASAP. Other than checking my IM desktop regularly is there something out there for this?
Thanks

Guifications work perfectly well on my 64bit arch. It's in community.
