Hi all,
I did an update today which pulled down new versions of flashplugin and some gstreamer stuff, now I can't access my volume control. if I try to double click on it I get this: -
No volume control Gstreamer plugins and/or devices found
Any ideas? I had this error when I first installed Arch and to solve it I issued gpasswd -a {user} audio and it worked, but no joy with command this time.

No idea if this might help anybody with this error, but when I single click on the volume control I get this message: -
The volume control didn't find any elements and/or devices to control. This means that you don't have the right Gstreamer plug-ins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured.

Fresh Arch installation with Gnome 2.22 and same problem here :-(
OK. Nevermind. I just added user to audio group ;-)

hey.
i had similar problems here. I solved them by reinstalling a few gstreamer plugins. Here is a short list of mine:
local/gstreamer0.10 0.10.19-1
local/gstreamer0.10-base 0.10.19-1
local/gstreamer0.10-base-plugins 0.10.19-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins)
local/gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.3-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins)
local/gstreamer0.10-good 0.10.7-2
