kernel26 upgrade initramfs problem

after updating to the latest kernel26 (2.6.24.4-1) when the initramfs loads I get an error "export: 36: : bad variable name.  kernel26.img is generated with no errors.  Also, It won't work on fallback either.

Weird. Can you post your kernel commandline?

more info.  amdx2 processor, ide hard drives, using pata.  and my mkinitcpio.conf...

do you mean in grub?

Your mkinitcpio.conf doesn't make sense: You are using pata AND ide, loading piix (IDE) and pata_amd (PATA). However, that could not cause this problem, I have no idea what could.

yeah, most of it is an attempt to get it running.  I'm using the initrd.img from the install disk atm.  at least i'm up and running.

I have 2 ide disks and a pata controller.  what should the correct line be?

Regular IDE is the same as PATA: wheeeeeee. Unless by IDE you mean SATA, in which case your terminology is FUBAR.
