eee pc 'easy-mode'

I like the look of the tabs on the ASUS EEE PC and I was wondering if its possible to install them on my everyday dell laptop?? Anyone tried this? Is it even possible?

If not is there any comparable system? I like the simplicity of it, I only really use my laptop for checking email, browsing and open office...

Hm, the Mezzo desktop from Symphony OS comes to mind, but I don't know, if that project is still alive ...

Re: eee pc 'easy-mode'

SymphonyOS seems to be alive, they just released new version. I found that mezzo and orchestra packages are not maintained anymore in AUR (broken link to orchestra*.deb file). Is there any way to bring Mezzo desktop environment to Arch?

You can download the eeepc default xandros on asus website. I suppose that the kernel will not work properly on a dell laptop...
There is also the SDK, you can try to launch it and check for the desktop specific configuration.
