kernel26-mm and Nvidia

Hi, i'm trying to compile from source the kernel 2.6.24.4 with Andrew Morton patch and it goes well but when i try to build the Nvidia driver, let's call it Nvidia-custom or something like that, I obtain a message that says:

Cannot load module /usr/lib......nvidia.ko
Invalid Module Format

How can this happen?How can i solve this?
