Hi everyone,
Before reporting this as a bug in the tracker, I thought i should ask if someone else is having this issue.
It began not long ago... i think around 1 or 2 weeks.
Here is my top output:

Its happens every time i reboot. Found a similar issue in Ubuntu:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/203679
And restarting hal daemon as stated in a comment does the trick.
But sometimes starts skyrocketing again, randomly.
Here is the output for ps aux
root 5692 0.0 0.0 18836 1152 ? S 19:27 0:00 hald-addon-input: Listening on /dev/input/event9 /dev/input/event2 /dev/input/event1 /dev/input/event4 /dev/input/event5 /dev/input/event6
This was after a hal restart, so the CPU consumption fell to almost nothing.
Any tips are welcome.
ps. /edit.
Arch system up to date. x86_64 version.
Its a Dell XPS M1530 laptop.
(So i thas a touchpad and fingerprint reader, both working --thats probably why there are so many input devices--)

According to the ubuntu report, this patch should fix it:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13565547/ … nval.patch
I'll have a look soon, as I still have to update i686 packages for hal too.

Thanks JGC.
Do you need this to be reported through the bug tracker?

I already applied this patch to the i686 build of hal, the x86_64 version will follow tomorrow when I'm trimming down the difflist.
