A little bit question about "route" command and config file.

I was trying to solve problem with my lan (totally newbie here), after some searched in forum I found that using "route add default gw 170.168.1.2" solved the problem.

Anyway, I wonder which config file does "route" command edit ?  I want to see a change and try to understand it.

thanks you very much.

Re: A little bit question about "route" command and config file.

Have a look at man route. Your changing your system's routing table, not a config file.

You can add your default route to /etc/rc.conf if you want it to be set automatically by the network init script.
