I'm looking for a way to know how to properly identify my video driver for the catalyst propriety driver?

I came across the information I needed when I copied my info from a text file to /etc/X11/xorg.conf and installed catalyst and catalyst-utils my x wouldn't start. Then I had to delete my xorg.conf file but I saved it to a text file. This is my Xorg.conf for a ati x300 series video card.

Something is wrong but I don't know what I noticed a few other people having this problem is there a solution?

I'd be happy to help (I have an ATI X1400), but I don't understand what the problem is. Can you provide more details? Exactly what is happening? Did you follow the Xorg and ATI wikis?

Thayer if you have a functional x1400 ati catalyst Xorg.conf please post it. I can probably fix my errors with reference to it.

I did it Your not suppose to do "Xorg -configure" that does nothing you do "Xorgconfig" And I answered the Identifier and Vendor Name correctly then I followed the wiki and in some file you do a line "TerminateServer=True" So X can start up. This is my Xorg.conf everything is good for now I can adjust resoulution but my next test would be running some opengl video game engines. This is my xorg.conf:
