Command Line Plugin for Gnome-Panel

Hi,

I've been using using gnome as my primary desktop for a while now after trying KDE and XFCE.
For me it seems to be the best desktop overall.

There is only one thing I miss:

Does anybody know of a plugin for the gnome-panel that displays something like a little text-input-field
to launch commands in a terminal like the verve plugin for XFCE does?

http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel- … rve-plugin

I've been searching for a while now and found nothing appropriate.
I don't like concepts like the deskbar-panel, and yeah I know about ALT-F2.

I would be glad if anyone could help me out on this, so I don't have to code it myself if I can free up some time :-)

Re: Command Line Plugin for Gnome-Panel

What does pressing <ALT>-<F2> do?  Is that what you mean?

Maybe you can add the Run applet (dunno what's it's real name since my locale isn't english), but it opens a popup like alt+f2 does hmm
