2.6.24 on archlinux-live 2008.4rc keeps crashing

I am trying to create a LVM + RAID setup but the machine just keeps crashing when I try to create a RAID1 setup. Could someone determine what is going wrong, based on the screenshot below? This is on a clean qemu machine; after running cfdisk and then mdadm. First it crashes; then a few minutes later, it gives the same error.
