With the new version of Google Earth (4.3) if i start the software in normal user mode, the program starts but no planets appear on the screen, and the menus seems blocked, deactivated.. with root access, no problems. I've checked the permissions of various files, tried to remove /home/myuser/.googleearth and /root/.googleearth, but all seems correct.. suggestions?
thanks

same problem here.
And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall
writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition
of the Boy Scout Manual.

Is no one having this problem?

O yes they are: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions … rd-638150/
Solution (I think): http://www.southernvaleslug.org/modules … post_id=29
Google it or file a bug at Google. HTH.
Edit: just build it from AUR and no probs with 4.3.7191.6508

Hi! Same problem, but googling a little I've found this:
<a href="http://groups.google.com/group/linuxusersgroup/browse_thread/thread/8454ad3a3ef75165">http://groups.google.com/group/linuxusersgroup/browse_thread/thread/8454ad3a3ef75165</a>
and it works for me.
Simply I changed owner of .conf files in ~/.config/Google and gave them rw permissions.
Starting GE as user I got two error windows but clicking OK immediately GE changed cache and configuration directory starting correctly.
I hope it will work for you too.
Bye

Magari se vuoi farlo tu Berseker saresti anche titolato come autore del topic, no?
Felice di esserti stato d'aiuto.
Ciao.
