I really liked how ubuntu had lock-screen. Is that just gnome-screensaver? Im on openbox, will it still work fine if I install it?

Yes that was gnome-screensaver. I'm not sure if it will work for you by simply installing it in Openbox, but it might. Otherwise I'm sure a little coaxing is all that would be needed .

I hate how xscreensaver's login box looks...
yeah I installed gnome-screensaver and the notification daemon thing... then set it to start up in openbox's autostart.sh and made Ctrl + Alt + L lock the screen. Works perfectly so far
