on screen display

For the life of me I can't recall what this program is...It's a command line application that will print what you tell it to your screen at different positions and probably different colors and stuff.  It is not xmessage.  It just prints onto the screen not in a pop up window, perhaps it can be compared to conky.  I doubt that it begins with an x because I browsed all my x* programs in my path and didn't notice it.  I feel like 'cat' is in it's name somewhere but I could be lying.

Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Thanks!

EDIT: that's the package, the binary itself is osd_cat.
