Hi,
I just installed Arch and am unable to download any packages from multiple mirrors. I have network connectivity but downloads fail with the error, "One or more packages failed to download. You can try again......"
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Wow, was not allowing packages to stay in cache and would error out. I allowed packages to stay in cache and installing worked....

ok, that wasn't the problem....
I rebooted for a fresh install, network fine but I cannot download any packages from any of the listed mirrors. Is there a rock solid mirror I should be trying?
thx

Well, most mirrors are quite good so you shouldn't be having these issues with multiple mirrors. How are you assessing that you network is fine? Also, are you still trying to install or are you trying to update a freshly installed system?

Thx,
I'm trying to do a fresh install now....
I assume my network is fine since I can ping ftp.archlinux.com and ifconfig looks good.
What am I missing?

btw, it does not fail on refreshing package list for most servers, I fail right after being asked if I want to keep the downloaded packages...

Which install iso are you using? Are you installing by ftp or from the CD?

2207.8-2.core
I had no issues installing by CD but it failed when I tried to download any packages.
I am now trying to install via FTP but package download fails for all mirrors.
thx

I should say I had no issues with the CD install but it failed when I tried to download "additional" packages such as gnome.
Now I can't install squat via FTP.
thx

The FTP install is broken in that iso. I suggest that you install using the CD and then we can help getting your network properly setup on the freshly installed system. This is a very helpful guide to getting your system up and running: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide
Also, notice the "Edit" button on the bottom right of your posts...

Thanks for that!
So when I tried to use pacman for installing my X system it failed to download anything then as well. Is it related to the same issue?
Offline
Possibly... Let concentrate on the getting one system up and working for a start.

Thanks,
Installing via CD now.
All working via CD.
Thank you for the assistance.
