While using the pc it always happen that the alt key remain pressed... so I'm not able to do action like write in a chat window. I wasn't able to find any particular errors in xorg logs. The programs I always use are kdemod 3.9, amarok, firefox 3 beta5, emesene, konqueror. What can I do??

raffo & djselbeck do you have the same version of xorg ? try to give us more informations
(I had some problem with the latest xorg and I had to downgrade to xorg-server 1.2.0-5, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's a xorg bug)
does this problem appear randomly or specially when using an application?
ah.. post your xorg.conf too please..
bye!

My xorg.conf version is X.Org X Server 1.4.0.90. From 2 days I'm not experiencing this problem but I have to say that I'm not using the computer so much. I'll do better tests tomorrow. Here's my xorg.conf file:

@hacosta: I don't know what kmilo is...

kmilo is a service that kde starts to set up your keyboard layout, it also sets up special keys, you can try disabling it in kcontrol (not on my laptop right now, so i can't tell you the exact location) but it should be under kde services.

Ok I found it... and I disabled it. I'll let you know if I'm still able to reproduce the bug

I'm still experiencing the bug. It is a little different from what I described yesterday. The problem is not related to the ALT key but to the win key. I always use the key to skip songs in amarok and I found that it remain in the status PRESSED. Maybe the problem is caused by amarok...

I started using juk instead of amarok just to understand if the bug is related to amarok. It isn't. I'm still having this problem with juk + kdemod + konqueror. I think it's time to start using another desktop environment
