file 4.24-1 no longer identifies .ogg containers

I would report this to http://www.darwinsys.com/file/ but the site is down for me (3 tries today).

Here is what I'm getting:

Is anyone else getting this before I report it upstream?

Re: file 4.24-1 no longer identifies .ogg containers

Thanks.

I was thinking of doing something like:

# find / -exec file {} \; | grep data | less

To see what else was not working but since the program is broke and the website is down, it may be a bad idea to run file as root right now.

I get this paranoia from years of previous Windows use...

Re: file 4.24-1 no longer identifies .ogg containers

I subscribed to the mailing list but did not get a confirmation, so hopefully it went through.

Archive is here (http://mx.gw.com/pipermail/file/2008/thread.html) but the last post is April 8. Maybe it will show up later (monthly archive?)

...and give us a link into our flyspray!

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Rep … r_Arch_.3F
says not to do that.

@onedingo,

AndyRTR is an Arch developer, so if he asks, it's OK to do it.  smile

Ok. Will do that now and edit this post with the link.

Your mail doesn't seem to appear in the archives of file mailing list. That ML looks a bit weird hmm

Otherwise, I tried to edit the wiki accordingly, I hope it's alright:

Re: file 4.24-1 no longer identifies .ogg containers

I received an automated reply.

>>>Snip
Your mail to 'File' with the subject

file 4.24 no longer identifies .ogg & .url correctly

Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.

The reason it is being held:

    Post by non-member to a members-only list
>>>Snip

But I never received confirmation to become a member yet. Just the "confirm that your email actually exists" thing that ml's send out.

Someone else want to try to join their mailing list to see if it works? Maybe my ip is blacklisted or something.
