new subdomains

I want to create a new subdomains abc.testme.pl
I created in vhosts.conf :
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName abc.testme.pl
DocumentRoot /home/abc
</VirtualHost>
I cannot connetct with a subdomain, because I can only see (forbidden - 403).
What shuld I do?

is /home/abc readable for apache?
