Newbie install

I am downloading arch now bout 51% done and I was wondering what kernel I should use 2.4 or 2.6 I read the install guide and printed it out and is their anything I should know before installing? I am not new to linux I have used Slackware Mandrake Fedora Debian and others and never really found the one for me hopefully arch will solve my problem. Thanks in advance.

Re: Newbie install

I'd recommend the 2.6 kernel unless there is a very specific reason not to use it. It's more modern, probably more secure, and more standard in Arch.
