Re: xchat spellcheck

A quick Google search said that xspell is required.

Re: xchat spellcheck

Yes, I've seen spellcheck in some versions of xchat but don't know how it was achieved.  Maybe it's a plugin or something else that can be added.  Not really sure.

Re: xchat spellcheck

I looked at the xspell plugin http://woody.linif.org/xchat/ but it was last updated in 2002. I will give it a try any how, but I am not too sure it will work. Then I read a form post mentioning the integration of gtkspell and aspell. The post was dated in 2006. So, I think the integration is in the package, but maybe not compiled in.

So, I am going to give the xspell plugin a try and compile xchat from source to see what results I get.

Re: xchat spellcheck

I just built xchat from source. It pickup up libsexy for its spell checker without any special switches. From source ti could either pickup libsexy, gtkspell or linked statically. Looks like xchat was built with

--enable-spell=none

I think I should file a bug against the xchat package.

Re: xchat spellcheck

According to this bug report http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10349?st … &closedto=, the PKGBUILD is built with

--enable-spell=none

Not sure why the default setting for spellcheck discovery would be turned off, but it is in 2.8.4-3 of xchat.
