I just upgraded my lilo w/ pacman -Syu... it says to run lilo once you have the new version installed, cool makes sense, but then I get this error when I try and run it now:
Error: /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 and /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target1/lun0/part1 have duplicate volume IDs (serial numbers)
Fatal: Duplicated volume IDs must be resolved before installation can proceed.
Use the '-z' and '-M <dev>' switches to erase the conflicts.
Now I don't know exactly why it's decided to complain suddenly about my configuration that worked last version, but I tried what it asked and what I could figure out about it all:
lilo -z -M /dev/hda
lilo -M /dev/hda
and lots of other variations that don't work because the actual partitions it's complaining about are not master devices with partiion tables...... sooo.. anybody have any idea why this problem showed up and how to fix it?
Until then I am going to try and install the previous version of lilo.

checked out the latest lilo, and it seems to work now.. must have just been a bug with that version.
